Jesus' Comeback

After Jesus had finished his work on earth, he promised to send the Holy Spirit to come and be our comforter. Additionally, he promised to come back to take his church to paradise so that they can be united as one. Jesus stated clearly that he would return. With this promise, many people have over the years predicated the actual date that Jesus is to return. Most recently, there was a doomsday scare that did not come to pass.

All people who have predicted the end of the world have certainly been disappointed. They have misled people and this is quite unfortunate. It is a fact that Jesus is coming back. However, the bible says that he will come like a thief in the night. When a thief comes, he does not announce his coming and in this light, God did not want people to know the exact date. God the father is the only one who knows the date and not even Jesus himself. Many theologians have tried to make sense of this and found that God wants man to follow him not because there is a deadline but because people have made up their minds and hearts to follow Christ. God wants people to live their lives according to his will and not out of fear.

God therefore warns against speculation of this date. Instead, God wants us to live in fullness everyday knowing that he might come at any moment. His will is that all people keep themselves holy and pure until the day of the lord. God is impressed by those who are diligent and focused on his word not on a date. Through faith, Christians have no doubt that Jesus is coming back. In the scripture God gave man some hints or clues for the signs that would announce the nearing to the end. Among the signs were wars, earthquakes, increased knowledge and increased evil. When we look at the world today, these signs are evident. We therefore know that the days are drawing near but it is only God who knows the actual date.

You should therefore not focus on matters you cannot comprehend but rather get busy in the work of the lord. Reach the unreached with the gospel and put someone of the course to heaven. God wants us to stay in love, peace and happiness. He warns against anxiety and worrying about the future. The bottom line is to live each day as if it is your last acknowledging God and doing his will until the final day when you will be taken to glory.
